An AI to WordPress converter takes the website you built with an AI tool and turns it into WordPress pages you own and can edit. That last part is where most AI sites stall. Claude, Gemini, Lovable, Cursor, ChatGPT, Bolt and v0 can produce a sharp looking site in an afternoon. Then you need a blog, proper SEO controls, a contact form that stores leads, a shop, or a client who can update a phone number without asking an AI for help. That is WordPress work, and rebuilding the design by hand to get there wastes the one thing the AI gave you, which is speed.
AI to WP Converter is a WordPress plugin that imports the AI site as it is. You bring the HTML file, a ZIP of the site, a live URL, or the whole website. The plugin brings the pages into WordPress with their design intact, sets up one shared header and footer, copies media into your Media Library, and hands you a visual editor to change anything after the import. No page builder subscription. No rebuilding section by section. No developer bill for a design you already have.
Who this plugin is built for
- Founders and marketers who built a first site in Lovable, Bolt, v0 or a similar tool and now need WordPress for SEO, blogging or a shop.
- Freelancers whose clients arrive with a Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT page and ask for it on their WordPress site.
- Agencies converting AI drafts into client sites they can hand over and support.
- Site owners with an old static HTML website that needs to become manageable.
If your product is an app with user accounts and live data, read the limits section below before anything else. This plugin moves websites. It is honest about that line.
What AI to WP Converter does
Four ways to import, in one plugin
Single HTML file import
One page, one file. This is the route for a Claude artifact, a Gemini or ChatGPT page, or a landing page a designer sent you. Upload the file and it becomes a WordPress page with its styling in place.
ZIP import
A full static site as a ZIP archive. Cursor projects, downloaded Bolt projects and classic HTML templates land here. The plugin reads the archive, lists the pages it found, and imports them together instead of one file at a time.
URL import
Paste the address of a live page. A published Lovable or v0 site, for example. The plugin fetches the page and imports it, and copies its images and files into your Media Library when the media option is on, up to 30 files per page and 8 MB per file.
Whole website import
Paste the home page address and the plugin discovers the pages of the site, shows you the list, and lets you pick what to import. This is the route for multi page sites and for rebuilding a live site inside WordPress without hunting down source files.

One shared header and footer, protected by a prompt
Every imported page carrying its own copy of the same header is a maintenance trap. Fix a phone number and you fix it on 30 pages. The plugin treats the header and footer as shared parts. The first import creates them. After that, when a new import carries a different header, the plugin asks a plain question: apply the new page header, or keep the existing shared header? The default is keep the existing one. Your live header is never replaced silently, and one edit to the shared header updates the whole site.

A visual editor for after the import
Importing is half the job. The other half is Tuesday afternoon, three months later, when a price changes. Open any imported page in the visual editor, click the element, and change the text, the link, the image, the spacing, the typography or the background. The editor spots linkable elements on its own, so clicking a social icon offers you the link field instead of only a text box, and the built in Social Links widget exposes the link for every icon. You edit the page you see, not a tree of builder widgets.

Menus that behave like WordPress menus
The navigation from your imported pages becomes a real WordPress menu. Rename a link or remove one in the Menus screen and the change applies across the shared header, site wide. Nested dropdown items from the original design are kept as dropdowns.
Media in your own library
On URL and website imports, images are downloaded into your WordPress Media Library and the pages point at the local copies. Your site stops depending on the AI platform file URLs, which matters the day you cancel that platform plan.
History for every import
Every import is written to the History screen with its source type, so you can see what came in, when, and from where. Re importing the same ZIP updates the existing pages instead of piling up duplicates.
Step by step: your first import
This is the full flow for the most common case, an AI page you have as an HTML file. The ZIP, URL and website routes follow the same shape after step 3.
Step 1: Install and activate the plugin
[AFTER WORDPRESS.ORG APPROVAL: replace this paragraph with the real flow and screenshots. In WordPress go to Plugins, then Add New, search AI to WP Converter, click Install Now, then Activate.]
Today, while the public listing is in review, the plugin is installed by uploading the plugin ZIP under Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, then Activate.

Step 2: Open the Import screen
The plugin adds its own Import screen in the WordPress dashboard. Pick the route that matches what you have: a file, a ZIP, a URL, or a whole website.
Step 3: Run the import
Upload the HTML file and start the import. For a ZIP, review the page list first. For a website, review the discovered pages and untick anything you do not want.
Step 4: Answer the header question if it appears
On a first import there is no question, the header of that import becomes the shared header. On later imports, keep the existing shared header unless the new design is meant to take over the site.
Step 5: Check the page like a visitor
Open the imported page logged out. Check the header, the footer, the images and the links. Pages import as real WordPress pages, so what you check is what Google and your visitors get.
Step 6: Edit one thing
Change a headline in the visual editor, save, reload. That one small edit proves the page is yours now, editable without the AI tool, without code, and without the person who built it sitting next to you.
AI to WP Converter pricing
Prices in US dollars. A monthly option sits next to the yearly plans if you prefer to spread the cost.
| Plan | Price | Built for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 dollars | Testing the plugin and small imports |
| Single Site | 49 dollars per year | One website, the most popular plan |
| Freelancer | 149 dollars per year | Client work across several sites |
| Agency | 349 dollars per year | Teams converting AI sites every month |
What the free plan includes, so you can judge it before paying anything: unlimited single HTML file imports, 5 URL imports, ZIP imports of up to 8 pages, and 5 whole website imports. A single Claude or ChatGPT landing page costs nothing to convert. Paid plans raise the import limits for URL, ZIP and website imports and cover ongoing client work.
Set that against the market. Freelance listings for manual Lovable and Claude to WordPress rebuilds run from about 195 dollars for one page to 795 dollars for a ten page site, with delivery in days. One conversion pays for years of the Single Site plan, and the second conversion is where the saving turns silly.
Where this plugin saves you real time
- Landing page tests: build three variants in Claude or v0 in the morning, import the winner into WordPress by lunch, and rank it with your normal SEO setup.
- Client drafts: a client falls in love with an AI draft. Instead of recreating it in a builder, import it and hand over a WordPress site they can edit.
- Agency volume: the Agency plan turns AI drafts into a repeatable intake. Import, fix the header once, connect forms, launch.
- Old HTML sites: a static site from 2016 imports by ZIP and gains a dashboard, a blog and plugins in one move.
- Leaving a platform: when an AI builder raises prices or shuts a feature, a URL or website import moves the public site to hosting you control.
AI Site Editor vs rebuilding in a page builder vs hiring a converter
| Route | Time for a 5 page site | Design result | Editing later |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rebuild in Elementor or another builder | 1 to 3 days | Close copy, spacing and CSS details drift | Builder widgets, plus a yearly builder licence |
| Hire a manual conversion service | 3 to 14 days, 195 to 795 dollars | Good, after revisions | Depends on what they built it in |
| AI to WP Converter import | Under an hour for most sites | Your design as designed, styling kept | Visual editor on the page itself, no builder needed |
The limits, stated plainly
- The plugin imports HTML based websites. If an AI tool gives you a React app, use its published URL or its static export. The website moves. The app build system does not need to.
- App logic does not move. Logins, dashboards, carts with live data and database features from Lovable, Bolt or Replit are application features. In WordPress those jobs belong to plugins such as a forms plugin, a membership plugin or WooCommerce, and the guides in this series show the mapping where one exists.
- Very heavy pages can hit the media limits on URL imports: 30 files per page and 8 MB per file. Files above the cap stay linked to their source instead of breaking the import.
- Forms in imported HTML need a working home. The design of the form imports with the page. Connect it to a WordPress forms plugin so submissions are stored and emailed.
AI to WordPress questions
Can I convert a Claude website to WordPress with this plugin?
Yes. Download the HTML file from Claude and use the single file import. Single file imports are unlimited on the free plan. Full walkthrough: [link Claude guide].
How do I convert a Lovable site to WordPress?
Publish the Lovable site, then import it by URL page by page, or run a whole website import for a multi page site. Design and content move. User accounts and database features do not, and need WordPress plugins instead. Full walkthrough: [link Lovable guide].
Will my design change during the import?
The import keeps your markup and styling instead of translating the page into builder widgets, which is where most design drift happens in other routes. Check the imported page logged out after import, as step 5 above says, and fix any single issue in the visual editor.
Do I need Elementor or another page builder installed?
No. The plugin imports and edits pages itself. Running it next to a builder for other parts of a site is fine, but nothing in the import depends on one.
What happens to my images?
With the media option on, URL and website imports download images into your Media Library and the pages use the local copies, within the 30 files per page and 8 MB per file limits.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. The free plan covers unlimited single file imports and a working taste of the other routes: 5 URL imports, ZIP imports up to 8 pages, and 5 website imports.
Which plan do I need for client work?
Freelancer at 149 dollars per year covers client work across several sites. Agency at 349 dollars per year fits teams converting AI sites every month. Single Site at 49 dollars per year is for one site of your own.
